Qantas Airways Posts Higher Fiscal H1 Earnings, Revenue

Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) reported Thursday that its fiscal first-half earnings per diluted share excluding certain items rose to AU$0.592 from AU$0.515 per diluted share a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Visible Alpha were expecting an operating EPS of AU$0.627.

On a statutory basis, EPS was AU$0.599, up from AU$0.518 a year earlier.

Revenue for the six months ended Dec. 31, 2024, was AU$12.13 billion, up from AU$11.13 billion in the same period a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected AU$11.84 billion.

Net freight revenue in the second half of the fiscal year is expected to be about AU$10 million to AU$30 million higher than last year, while group domestic unit revenue is expected to increase by 3% to 5% for the same period.

The board declared an interim dividend of AU$0.264 per share, payable on April 16 to shareholders on record as of March 12.
