Hillgrove Resources Ltd (ASX:HGO) has hit a milestone for its Kanmantoo copper mine in South Australia, producing a record 1,105 tonnes of copper during February 2025 – this being the highest monthly production since the company began processing underground material one year ago.
This means during February 2025, 116,000 tonnes of ore was processed at a grade of 1.01% Cu and a 94.2% recovery; a lift from 99,000 tonnes processed during the previous month, yielding 903,000 tonnes of copper.
Also achieved during February was 584 metres of development, with Hillgrove’s numbers reflecting a record daily average for a month.
Managing director Bob Fulker said the work done to improve the mine – located 55 kilometres from Adelaide – had paid off. “I am pleased to report continued improvement in our mine physicals which has seen a record achieved for copper production in February, despite February being a 28-day month,” he said.
“In addition, there were record daily averages for both development and ore mining. The excellent operational delivery in these key metrics shows our continual improvement and debottlenecking of the mine that is delivering tangible results.
“We are confident mine performance will continue to strengthen, as we accelerate the development of Nugent.”
Hillgrove has been trading at 3.7 cents.
