Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 1,118,540 shares in London on Thursday at a volume weighted average price of around 12.41 pounds sterling apiece, a Friday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2,406,329,895 shares in issue.
