Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) said drill intercepts from the Martin prospect at its Christmas Creek gold project in Western Australia demonstrated the project's proof-of-concept, according to an Australian bourse filing on Monday.

Drilling at the prospect resulted in intercepts of 10 meters at 12.66 grams per tonne grade of gold from 59 meters, as well as 10 meters at a grade of 7.34 g/t of gold from 94 meters.

The prospect remains the priority focus for drilling, expected to start in May.

Interpretation of soil sampling data identified extensive multi-kilometer scale targets at both the Zahn and Coogan prospects.

Significant intersections to date are interpreted to be related to the contact of magnetic dolerite units, with extensive untested strike extents which may contain high-priority targets for the upcoming drilling, the filing added.
