Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) said that drill rigs and field crews are being deployed for its drilling program at the Maverick Springs Silver-Gold Project in Nevada, set to begin in early April, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
In-fill drilling will support the upgrade of the existing 423 million ounces of silver-equivalent inferred resource to the indicated category, while extensional drilling will test targets to the northwest of known mineralization.
An updated mineral resource estimate for the project is expected just before the scheduled recommencement of drilling in early April, based on the results of the 2024 drilling program.
Its shares rose past 6% in recent trading on Thursday.
