Oklo (OKLO) said Monday it is engaging with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a pre-application readiness assessment of its combined license application for the Aurora power plant at the Idaho National Laboratory.

The assessment, to begin later this month, lets regulators review Oklo's licensing materials ahead of the full application review, the company said.

"The readiness assessment helps streamline the formal review process and ensure an efficient path forward," Oklo said.

Oklo said it plans to submit a formal combined license application later this year.

Shares were 5.5% higher in recent premarket activity.
