Usually, when one insider buys stock, it might not be a monumental event. But when multiple insiders are buying like they did in the case of Po Valley Energy Limited (ASX:PVE), that sends out a positive message to the company's shareholders.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
The insider, Michael Masterman, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for AU$270k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.075 each. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of AU$0.038. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels. Michael Masterman was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 18.92m shares worth AU$635k. But they sold 3.62m shares for AU$270k. Overall, Po Valley Energy insiders were net buyers during the last year.
