Quantum Graphite (ASX:QGL) and its JV partner, Sunlands Energy, received major project status from the Australian Government for their Eyre Peninsula Graphite Hub, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The status will help accelerate efforts to secure $300 million in financing from the US Export-Import Bank, targeting delivery of high-purity graphite by 2027.

Shares of the company rose 4% at market close.
