T1 Energy (TE) said Friday the recent tariffs announced by the US government align with its plans to develop a domestic solar and storage supply chain.
It expects the policy to strengthen the competitiveness of US-based solar production, supporting growth of its Dallas facility and the proposed Austin solar cell plant, the company said.
The firm said the new measures are expected to encourage developers to choose US-made technology by offering financial advantages.
T1 currently employs over 1,000 people in the US and expects its Austin project to add around 1,700 jobs in Texas as part of its plan to build a vertically integrated manufacturing base.
