April 2 - (The Insurer) - Colony Bankcorp has acquired The Ellerbee Agency, an Allstate-appointed consumer property and casualty insurance agency, strengthening its presence in its home state of Georgia.
As part of the acquisition, The Ellerbee Agency will be integrated into Colony Insurance, Colony Bankcorp’s wholly-owned insurance subsidiary.
Sean Ellerbee, who leads the agency, will join Colony Insurance’s leadership team focusing on sales and coaching, along with 11 additional agents.
The deal also adds two new office locations in Monroe and Greensboro, Georgia.
Founded in 1975, Colony operates locations across Georgia and in Birmingham, Alabama; Tallahassee, Florida; and the Florida Panhandle.
The company offers banking and specialized services, including mortgage lending, government-guaranteed lending, consumer insurance, wealth management, credit cards and merchant services.
