President Trump on Friday evening called the U.S. dollar the world's "currency of choice," adding, "We're always going to be." The dollar fell on Friday for a fifth straight day.

The president, speaking to reporters traveling with him on Air Force One, said the administration is in trade negotiations with other countries."We're in a very good position," he said, predicting that "something positive is going to come out of" trade tensions with China. Trump also offered a rosy assessment of the bond market: "The bond market's going good. It had a little moment, but I solved that problem very quickly."
