Chatham Rock Phosphate (NZE:CRP) said it received unsolicited interest in its phosphate projects in New Zealand and French Polynesia, according to an April 17 New Zealand bourse filing.
It had earlier agreed to sell to an arm's-length Australian entity, the Marshall Group, the four mining and exploration leases in respect of its Korella North and South properties in Queensland. The leases are currently held by Chatham Rock's wholly-owned subsidiary, Avenir Makatea.
The Marshall Group moved to a non-exclusive negotiation process as they sought to investigate complementary opportunities in the overall phosphate value chain. Subsequently, other parties who had earlier expressed interest in acquiring the Korella leases have re-engaged.
