Appian has named Serge Tanja its next chief financial officer after the executive submitted his resignation at MongoDB.

Tanjga joins Appian effective May 27. He resigns from his role as interim CFO at MongoDB effective May 8, according to a Monday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He will receive an annual base salary of $750,000 and an annual target bonus of $450,000, according to a Monday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He will also receive a one-time sign-on grant of restricted stock units with a value of $5 million with a four-year vest, and will receive recurring annual grants of restricted stock units and performance stock units, each with a value of $1.5 million.

At MongoDB, Tanja led financial planning, strategic finance, business operations and analytics as senior vice president of finance before becoming interim CFO in February.

Tanjga previously worked at Emerging Sovereign Group, a subsidiary of The Carlyle Group.

MongoDB said it is in advanced discussions with a qualified candidate and expects to announce an appointment of a new CFO in the next seven to 10 days, according to a filing.
