BRC Asia (SGX:BEC) entered into a conditional share purchase agreement with Southern Steel (KLSE:SSTEEL) to acquire 12,883,562 shares in Southern Steel Mesh for a cash consideration of 61.1 million ringgit.

The shares represent around 55% of the share capital of the target company, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Tuesday.

The acquisition is part of the company's strategy to enter regional markets and diversify its revenue streams.
