Garrett Motion (GTX) and Shaanxi Hande Axle said Wednesday they will co-develop electric beam axle systems for medium and heavy-duty trucks, with production targeted for 2027.

The strategic partnership includes a multi-year production award from major Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers and will support domestic output and international expansion, they said.

The companies said test fleets are set to start field trials next year as part of a larger rollout worldwide.
