Spire (SR) said Friday that it has appointed Scott Doyle as its chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Doyle, has previously worked as Spire's chief operating officer, succeeds Steve Lindsey, who has resigned from his position as CEO and member of the board, the company said.

Shares of the company were down 1.5% in recent premarket activity.
