1211 GMT - Mediobanca's offer for Banca Generali has hit the likelihood of a successful takeover bid from Monte dei Paschi, Intesa Sanpaolo says in a research note. Monte dei Paschi's proposed all-stock transaction for Mediobanca could require a larger premium to be successful, analyst Elena Perini writes. Given it is a takeover target, Mediobanca has to ask its shareholders to approve its Banca Generali offer at a meeting on June 16 as per the passivity rule. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
