Amcor (ASX:AMC) and New York-listed Berry Global Group received the unconditional approval of the European Commission for their merger, clearing the transaction's final regulatory hurdle, according to an April 25 joint statement.

The deal is expected to close on April 30, subject to meeting other closing conditions.
