US equity futures were cautiously mixed pre-bell Wednesday as traders looked ahead to a deluge of economic data and earnings from Microsoft (MSFT) and Meta Platforms (META).
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.04%, S&P 500 futures slipped 0.3%, and Nasdaq futures were down 0.5%.
Technology majors Microsoft and Meta Platforms are scheduled to report earnings after the closing bell.
Oil prices were lower, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude down 0.7% at $62.84 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 0.8% lower at $59.91 per barrel.
The ADP Institute's employment report, due at 8:15 am ET, is expected to show a 114,000 increase in private payrolls for April versus a 155,000 gain previously.
US gross domestic product, scheduled for release at 8:30 am ET, is expected to show 0.2% growth for Q1, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
The Personal Consumption Expenditures price index for March, slated for 10 am ET, is expected to be flat, while the core measure is expected to show a 0.1% uptick. Forecasters see pending home sales coming in at a 0.9% gain for March after February's 2% increase.
