Metallurgical Corp. of China or MCC's (SHA:601618, HKG:1618) attributable profit fell 40% to 1.61 billion yuan in the first quarter from 2.68 billion yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
Earnings per share at the engineering construction company decreased 33% to 0.08 yuan from 0.12 yuan in the year-ago period.
Operating income declined 18% to 122.3 billion yuan from 149.9 billion yuan in the prior-year period.
