0840 GMT - Travis Perkins faces a difficult road ahead as the market watches closely for any signs of progress, Begbies Traynor's Julie Palmer says. The company's update provides little to get excited about after a devastating year which saw operating profits fall by almost 99%, Palmer says. Furthermore, the outlook is bleak due to the share price being in the doldrums and the lack of an obvious catalyst on the horizon, the analyst adds. "The construction sector continues to be hard hit by high interest rates and low consumer confidence, in this climate Travis needs to demonstrate a clear path to recovery--and that includes stability at the top demonstrating who is steering the ship." Shares are up 6% at 560 pence and are down 26% over the past 12 months. (anthony.orunagoriainoff@dowjones.com)
