In April 2024, Coinbase integrated the Lightning Network to provide customers with a more efficient and convenient Bitcoin trading service. Coinbase's Product Director, Michael Rihani, stated, "Integrating the Lightning Network is a key step in supporting the Bitcoin ecosystem and driving payment upgrades.
