Kellanova, Hershey Note Softening Snack Demand -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
昨天

1040 ET - Snack giant Kellanova posted weaker-than-expected earnings, pressured by softening demand for snacks, particularly in North America. The maker of Pringles and Pop-Tarts says net sales in North America decreased by 4% in 1Q as volumes declined "amidst further softening of snacking and frozen categories." Candy maker Hershey also says snacking is suffering from weaker consumer sentiment and grocery trips, and ongoing value-seeking behavior by consumers. However, Hershey CEO Michele Buck says that demand for its products have held up well, in part because chocolate plays an important emotional role in people's lives, "especially in troubled times."
