Andromeda Metals (ASX:ADN) said it has achieved 99.9985% purity in high-purity alumina (HPA) through lab-scale production, using a novel kaolin-based process, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
Verified by EAG Eurofins USA and Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, the method offers lower costs and reduced carbon emissions compared to traditional HPA production, the filing said.
The company plans to proceed with a scoping study, engage with potential customers, and explore government funding options to commercialize the technology.
Shares of the company soared 79% on market close.
