0823 GMT - Futures linked to the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 are on the rise Thursday after Microsoft and Meta Platforms reported stronger-than-expected quarterly results. The E-mini Nasdaq 100 futures contract is up 1.5% on Thursday. Microsoft's net profit for the March-ending quarter came in at $25.8 billion, or $3.46 a diluted share. Analysts were expecting per-share earnings of $3.22. Meta said its sales grew 16%, ahead of analyst expectations. Net income for the January-to-March period was $16.6 billion. Microsoft shares are up 8% premarket, touching a high of $427.27. Meta shares rise 6% with a high of $586.7. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
