ZTE (HKG:0763, SHE:000063) expects its revenue to grow again this year as it shifts its focus on smart computing infrastructure projects for internet companies, Yicai Global reported Wednesday, citing the Chinese telecom equipment giant's executive vice president and chief operating officer, Xie Junshi.

Slower 5G network construction progress weighed down on ZTE's revenue and profit in 2024, which dropped 2.4% and 9.7% year on year, respectively, the report said.

Xie told Yicai that the company's artificial intelligence server projects are accelerating and orders for general computing server framework tenders for internet firms are "scaling up and entering batch delivery phases", the report said.

ZTE also plans to revamp its organizational and decision-making body to meet the faster-paced demands of internet clients, the report said.
