Canadian National Railway (CNI) reported Q1 earnings late Thursday of 1.85 Canadian dollars ($1.34) per diluted share, up from CA$1.72 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected CA$1.78.
Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was CA$4.40 billion, up from CA$4.25 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected CA$4.36 billion.
The company said it still expects adjusted EPS growth of 10% to 15% in 2025 and growth in the high single-digit range from 2024 through 2026.
