1310 ET - Newell Brands sees a way to gain ground thanks to tariffs imposed on China and other countries. The maker of Yankee Candle and Sharpie pens expects a greater number of categories it operates under to benefit from tariffs given its domestic manufacturing capabilities. Two areas it's taking share are in food storage and vacuum sealing bags, and executives expect further growth as competitors drop out in the face of heavy tariffs. Kitchen blenders, for example, is a product it expects can supply the U.S. market given a majority of blenders come from areas subject to the current tariffs. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
