Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) said it intersected high-grade visible gold in drilling at its Riverina East gold project in Western Australia in phase two exploration drilling, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The drilling encountered a significant intercept of two meters at 23.6 gram-per-tonne grade of gold from 124 meters, with visible gold. It also encountered an intercept of one meter at 3.2 g/t grade of gold from 112 meters.
The visible gold, as well as the extent of the broad gold anomaly, is interpreted to represent a significant volume of mineralising fluid flow through the host rocks.
Its shares jumped 14% in recent trading on Friday.
