Barton Gold Holdings (ASX:BGD) said that an optimized scoping study results for its Tunkillia gold project in South Australia identified material efficiencies, extending the project life to around 10 years, according to a Monday Australian filing.

The project is now estimated to produce around 942,000 ounces of recovered gold and around 2 million ounces of recovered silver during a 7.8-year processing period, for average annual production of around 120,000 ounces of gold and around 250,000 ounces of silver.

The estimated study life of mine revenues are around AU$3.9 billion to AU$4.8 billion. The study includes a AU$35 million up-front capital expenditure savings, compared with the July 2024 scoping study.

The firm's shares jumped almost 8% in recent trading on Monday.
