ABC-Mart (TYO:2670) booked a 4.2% increase in all-store sales in April from a year ago, according to a Wednesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Sales at existing stores grew by 3.5% year on year, the filing said.

All-store sales per customer rose 4.5% for the month, while the number of customers saw an increase decline of 0.9%.

The company's store count reached 1,087 with the closing of one store and the opening of seven.
