0735 GMT - Intesa Sanpaolo reiterated its profit outlook for the year, which is encouraging as the Italian bank expects improved lending and a strong recovery in the second half of the year, BNP Paribas Exane says in a research note. "We continue to believe in the bank's ability to generate additional organic volumes and revenues as peers shift focus to inorganic transactions, albeit this will materialise later in the year," analysts Ignacio Ulargui and Cyril Toutounji write. In the first-quarter print, they highlight the lender's costs and capital results, which beat expectations. Shares are down 0.65% at 4.73 euros and up 22.5% year to date. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
