1225 ET - Fed Chair Powell may not have much to say about the impact of tariffs on inflation, since goods shipped from China after Liberation Day are yet to land in the U.S. market, Natixis economist Benito Berber says. "The ships that sailed from China after the announcements of tariffs will probably come in the next four weeks," he says. Berber expects the inflationary impact to be felt in June. After today's likely hold, the Fed is expected to start cutting rates in July, according to CME data. Berber forecasts the hold to last until September, when the Fed will start cutting and continue into 2026. (paulo.trevisani@wsj.com; @ptrevisani)
