0729 GMT - China's export growth remained solid in April despite U.S. tariffs, but that was likely due to trade re-routing through other economies, Goldman Sachs economists say. The solid year-over-year export growth was also partly due to a low base last year, and data on exports by region hints at the role of potential re-routing, they write in a note.Export values dropped materially across China's major trading partners last month, except for shipments to Asean, GS points out. Exports to the U.S. were down particularly sharply. In sequential terms, China's exports declined 2.5% on a seasonally adjusted non-annualized basis in April, GS says.
