1458 GMT - Global tariffs are more likely to have a disinflationary rather than an inflationary impact in the U.K., Bank of England's Megan Greene said at the Bank of England Watchers Conference. "It's challenging to [determine] the implications with tariff policies changing all the time, but on balance the effects are likely to be more disinflationary in the U.K." This implication was factored in to last week's BOE rate decision, Greene said. The BOE last week cut its main policy rate by 25 basis points to 4.25%. Greene was one of five policymakers who favored this move, while two voted for a larger 50 basis-point reduction and two preferred unchanged rates. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
