China Petroleum & Chemical's (HKG:0386, SHA:600028) controlling shareholder, China Petrochemical, increased its shareholding in the firm by 302,004,000 H shares, a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing said.

The shares, which were purchased by China Petrochemical through a unit from the Hong Kong bourse for a little over 1.23 billion yuan, represent around 0.25% of China Petroleum & Chemical's total issued shares.

Following the acquisition, China Petrochemical holds 1,344,668,000 H shares in the petrochemical company.
