Boeing's Commercial Aircraft Deliveries Rise in April

Boeing (BA) said Tuesday it delivered 45 commercial aircraft in April, up from 24 in the same month last year.

The company's April deliveries were also up compared with March, when it delivered 41 jets, Boeing said. Boeing also said it delivered eight 787 Dreamliners, four 777 freighters, and three 767s during the month.

From January through April, Boeing delivered a total of 175 aircraft, including 133 737 Max jets, 21 787s, and 11 777 freighters, according to the company.

April deliveries included 29 737 Max planes, with eight going to United Airlines (UAL), five to Ryanair (RYAAY), and five to Southwest Airlines (LUV), according to the company.

Boeing said it received eight new orders in April, all for the 737 Max and all from unidentified customers, with no cancellations or order conversions last month.

An additional 32 previously conditional orders were moved into Boeing's official order book, Reuters reported.

As of April 30, Boeing said it had booked 249 gross orders and 212 net orders for the year, while the planemaker's total unfilled orders stood at 6,282, with a backlog of 5,643 orders.

Shares of the company were up 3% in recent trading.
