Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 1,175,000 shares in London on Wednesday at a volume-weighted average price of around 11.4226 pounds sterling apiece, a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2,357,532,518 shares in issue.
