International Seaways Inc., one of the world's largest tanker companies, has entered into a new partnership with V., a global ship manager and marine services provider, to launch a female cadet program. This initiative aims to create a more female-friendly working environment onboard, offering gender-specific facilities, workwear, safety equipment, and health and wellness programs. The program, which will see female cadets joining dedicated training ships supported by female senior officers, is set to commence in September. This collaboration seeks to enhance diversity within the maritime industry and address the growing skills shortage by tapping into underutilized talent pools. Both companies aim to establish best practices for a safer and more inclusive environment at sea, ultimately contributing to the industry's growth and operational excellence.
