Weatherford International (WFRD) has selected Amazon.com's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services as its preferred cloud provider and will migrate and modernize its software and hardware suite to AWS.

Weatherford said Tuesday that AWS will also support the development of its unified data model, which allows customers to integrate and analyze multi-asset data within a scalable, application programming interface-compatible model.

The collaboration between the two companies will also enhance the WFRD Software Launchpad, a platform that provides customers with access to Weatherford-built and Weatherford-partnered applications, the company said.
