Anteris Technologies (ASX:AVR) reported Wednesday a loss after income tax of $21.9 million in the first quarter, 36% wider than its loss of $16.2 million a year ago, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The company's research and development expenses climbed 42% to $16.5 million from $11.6 million last year as it upscaled its manufacturing capabilities, the filing said.
Net sales for the three months ended March 31 fell 27% to $600,000 from $800,000 in the year-ago period, reflecting lower demand for tissue products.
