Amcor (ASX:AMC) is working with Helsinki-based Metsa Group to develop three-dimensional molded fiber packaging products for food applications, according to a Monday statement by the company.

The collaboration aims to create recyclable, biodegradable packaging that extends food shelf life, the company said.

Commercial products are expected to launch in Europe later this year.

Shares of the company rose past 3% in recent Tuesday trade.
