Geely Automobile's (HKG:0175) attributable profit surged 264% to 5.67 billion yuan in the first quarter from 1.56 billion yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
Revenue at the automobile manufacturer grew 25% to 72.50 billion yuan from 58.23 billion yuan in the year-ago period as sales in the first quarter jumped 48% annually to 703,800 units from 475,700 units.
Shares rose over 1% during afternoon trading on Thursday.
