Ameren (AEE) unit Ameren Missouri said Thursday it filed a proposal with state regulators to support rising electricity demand from large commercial customers while maintaining current rate protections.
The utility said the filing with the Missouri Public Service Commission outlines a framework in which new high-use businesses such as data centers and advanced manufacturing "pay their fair share" of the costs, while maintaining "just and reasonable rates for all customers."
The company said it expects up to 2 gigawatts of additional demand by 2032 and is adjusting its long-term energy strategy to meet that growth with a mix of generation sources.
