--BT is set to split its international operations into a new standalone unit, which will include more than 8,000 staff, the Financial Times reports, citing an unnamed source.
--The new division will report separately from the company's U.K. business, FT says.
--The London-listed group is open to a sale of the cut-up unit, or might seek to merge it with another operator, the newspaper added.
