New Murchison Gold (ASX:NMG) reported high-grade gold intercepts from shallow slim reverse circulation grade control drilling at the Crown Prince gold project in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The firm completed 212 short vertical grade control drill holes to test and better delineate grade within the caprock at the project. Significant intercepts encountered during drilling included nine meters at 18.71 grams-per-tonne grade of gold from one meter, as well as six meters at 9.44 g/t grade of gold from three meters.

The increases to the grade and thickness of the caprock resource are expected as the results are incorporated into a new Crown Prince grade control model ahead of mining.

The Crown Prince project is a part of the firm's flagship Garden Gully gold project.

Its shares rose 7% in recent trading on Tuesday.
