AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) has installed 11,000 modules at New South Wales' Canally solar farm, Australia's first utility-scale solar project using heterojunction technology, according to a May 16 statement.
Risen Energy is the supplier of the photovoltaic modules, which deliver an output power of 580 watt-peak and can operate within -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, the statement read.
Combined with a 5-megawatt-per-hour battery system, the project is forecast to cut the Canally almond orchard's diesel consumption by 85%.
