RTX said its Raytheon subsidiary has been awarded a $580 million follow-on production contract from the U.S. Navy.

The unit will produce next generation jammer mid-band systems, an airborne electronic-attack system that denies and disrupts enemies' communication tools and air defenses.

RTX said the contract also includes production of the systems for the Royal Australian Air Force, as well as spares and some support equipment.

"With this contract, we'll ensure that our naval aviators in all theaters are better prepared to counter adversary threats and support the Joint Fight," said Barbara Borgonovi, president of Naval Power at Raytheon.

Work for the contract will take place in Forest, Miss.; McKinney, Texas; El Segundo, Calif.; and Andover, Mass., through 2028, the company said.

RTX also on Friday announced a partnership with Emirates Global Aluminum and UAE's Tawazun Council to boost production of gallium, which is crucial in defense products.

Raytheon earlier this week received a $1 billion agreement with Qatar to expand counter-drone capabilities. The deal was part of President Trump's push to increase Qatar's defense spending with the U.S.
