Oglethorpe Power has selected GE Vernova's advanced technology for a new natural gas plant in Monroe County, Georgia, to address the state's increasing energy demands and enhance energy security. The project is associated with a Slot Reservation Agreement signed with GE Vernova in the fourth quarter of 2024, with the order expected to be finalized in 2025. The plant will utilize GE Vernova's high-performance, low-emission H-Class combined-cycle equipment, making it one of the most efficient natural gas facilities in Georgia. Once operational, the plant is projected to generate over 1,400 megawatts of reliable energy, benefiting Oglethorpe Power's members and the surrounding communities. This collaboration continues a longstanding partnership between Oglethorpe Power and GE Vernova, focusing on improving and maintaining energy infrastructure.
