GlobalFoundries (GFS) said late Monday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research, or A*STAR, in a bid to expand its advanced packaging capabilities.

GlobalFoundries will gain access to A*STAR's research and development facilities while providing the latter with critical equipment for its R&D efforts, the company said.
